Host an
event

It could be a picnic, panel, club night, crafternoon or open mic. If it brings trans community together, it belongs in the program.

The playbook

how to plan a trans month event

Organising your own Trans Month event doesn't require a tonne of experience. Here are some easy steps to follow to make your trans-centric event a success.

1
keep it trans-centric

Trans Month is all about trans-centric events. We're a diverse community with diverse interests, so pick an activity that stands out.

2
Pick a format & sort the basics

Picnic, panel, workshop, club night, open mic, crafternoon. Lock in your format, venue and date.

3
make it easy to register

Host your event on a free event listing platform like Humanitix, and make it simple for people to let you know they are coming along.

4
Make it Accessible

Do your best to keep things accessible. Step-free access, gender-neutral bathrooms, a quiet space and clear signage all help people feel welcomed and included.

5
safety tips

Name a welcome/safety contact for the day, set simple ground rules for attendees, and share the exact address only with people who've RSVP'd.

COVID safety such as good ventilation and making masks available is a great way to care for our community.

6
Register, promote & wrap up

Submit your event to us and we'll add it to the official program to help spread the word. Afterwards, thank everyone, ask for quick feedback, and only share photos people have agreed to.
